By Road

Driving directions can be accessed via Google Maps (opens in a new window). Holyrood Cottage is in Spring Gardens, Edinburgh EH8 8HX. While there is no private parking for the cottage, until spring/summer 2023 there is free on-street parking in Spring Gardens — no parking meters. (Ask for more details.)

By Train/Bus

The closest train station is Edinburgh Waverley. Coaches arrive at St. Andrew’s Square bus station. The cottage is a short taxi ride away costing approximately £10-15.

By Plane

Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is a 30-40 minute taxi ride, costing approximately £30. (However, when returning to the airport we suggest you allow longer to be on the safe side.) Airlink 100 buses also run into the city centre about every 10 minutes (early services every 20 minutes). Journeys take 25 minutes and cost £4.50 single/£7.50 open return.
